Re: Cars in the mall and no more bowling club: Armidale’s city centre plan revealed
While I think most people in Armidale would agree there is significant room for improvement in the CBD (particularly in parking), what on earth is this council doing? We’re getting slugged extra rates to fix the stuff that’s been broken forever, not for consultants to be paid a fortune to regurgitate ideas the community has already rejected multiple times.
I’m actually a bit sad I read it – having flashbacks of the Armidale Club being burned down and the many other things done to force changes that benefit a couple of wealthy property types who were always putting profit before the community. I’m more likely to believe the bogus claim that 85% support the silly rail trail than I am to believe that there isn’t someone on the take for this “plan”.
