QW: The loss of rail and need for a New England State

Mal, Wallangarra

44 years ago I collected my overnight freight for my motor business from Armidale railway station. All freight bar a very small amount came on rail. Fuel, livestock , steel etc. all on trains.

Government closed the rail down but never allocated more $ to roads to pay for truck use. The lip service paid to emissions forgotten.

The Tsami of lost opportunity regional areas get to city interest increases. We can continue to bitch and most but nothing will change. The only answer is as our founding fathers expected. More States.

If New England became a state all the priorities change. It would happened in 1967 if the then Premier did not include Newcastle.
