Although I have not lived in Armidale for 30 years I well recall the urgency of getting a second high school in the town. AHS had too many students and it needed to be split. I had a profound sense of sadness when my old school was gutted. I also recently drove up past Duval and thought what an obscene waste of public money. We can’t run a health system but we build new schools when we had perfectly adequate ones in place.
