Letter: New England Families deserve nothing less

Jack Arnold, Armidale

I note the appreciation of Kate McGrath for the improvements made to Tamworth state schools and pre-schools.  Sadly, the only ”improvement” in Armidale since the retirement of our Independent MP in 2013 has been the Armidale Secondary College debacle.

I agree that ”investment in regional communities” should be real public infrastructure that actually improves people’s lives”.   So the provision of public transport as passenger train services will successfully do that for communities north of Armidale, at a renovation cost much less than the $25 BILLION paid out to remove heavy railway lines with light rail for the driverless trains on the Bankstown line.

”[New England] families deserve nothing less”.
