QW: Creative Streets was incredible

Marty, Armidale

What an incredible event Armidale’s Creative Streets Festival was! The organisers and participants should be congratulated on the diverse array of high-quality events, live music, films, installations, chalk art, food stalls and karaoke which lit up the centre of town, while the new murals will continue to brighten the town for years. It shows that Armidale doesn’t need thousands more inhabitants to have lively cultural festivals. Nor should it destroy the mall and its playground, Reconciliation fountain, revamped stage and outdoor cafes for car traffic – a festival highlight was the safe, quiet, pollution-free city centre free of cars and filled with children playing.
